business to business marketing
|
|
You have a product that is beneficial to another business
venture, but are not sure on how it should be marketed? Well, firstly
you need to understand that business to business marketing is different
from business to consumer marketing. For consumers direct marketing,
advertising, leaflets, etc., can be employed and irrespective you will
hit your target audience. But this is not so in business to business
dealings. Specialized marketing has been a part of the economical growth of various prosperous nations. How is this possible? The fact is that marketing is a structured department in every company. While certain companies deal in only consumer goods, there are others that deal in industrial or commercial goods. Realizing that there is a difference in the target audience, the marketing team of the company works out sales and advertising budgets accordingly. This trend can also be seen in India’s corporate and industrial sector. More companies are concentrating on specialized business to business marketing. They first select the target business houses, and then they select the marketing tools. One of the most popular tools being used in India presently is that of corporate presentations, seminars and conferences where the target companies are invited. Another mode is advertising in specialized trade magazines, periodicals and papers. Many Indian companies have now started printing their own in-house journals or newsletters, through which they market their products. It is as simple as this, if a company is into manufacturing computer chips, then advertising on television will be a complete waste, ideally the company has to market itself through trade fairs and advertise in magazines and newspapers that are specially published for the industry. Those studying Business Management and specializing in Marketing as a subject are taught the various tools that can be implemented for effective and beneficial business to business marketing. They are also taught that what applies to business marketing is different from consumer marketing. At the very base, the end user in both cases must need the product, or through basic marketing strategies the marketing team should be able to give rise to the non-existent need. ~ author Karishma Bajaj.
