Native American movies, Films
At
the time when real Native American people were almost entirely kept out of
the American movies, the American movie production houses dramatically and
surprisingly had doled out almost 2,000 films dealing with "Native American
themes."
More pieces revolving around similar “Native American themes” were made. In fact another 2,500 or so were produced as T.V. segments between the two decades of 1950 and 1970.
Following this utter saturation of Native American themes on the big and small screens three consecutive generations of Americans had been well conditioned to see the Native American people in certain rigid set of ways.
Most of the these productions that featured Native American Themes consisted of squalid potboilers. In these Native American Movies, the Native Americans seemed to be serving the purpose of being mere targets to provide the cowboys and the cavalry with something to shoot at.
At the
same time, on the other hand, there were some movies, which can be
considered as serious cinema. 
Ironically
the contemporary Native Americans, from whom much of the wealth supporting
the Euro-American standard of living continues to be extracted, are being
maintained in a state of near-total disempowerment and correspondingly deep
destitution.
