A good waterbed to sleep is common and could help fight stress. Some waterbed sheets also have an inbuilt heater, which helps blood circulation and literally lulls you to sleep. So what sheets do they use on such a mattress? Actually whether the waterbed is hard side or soft-sided the usual sheets will do, but some people prefer the special fitted sheets. Let us look at a few of them
Cotton waterbed sheets, which are half cotton and half polyester, have elastic, which goes around the length of the sheet. To the foot of this sheet, another flat sheet is attached only at the center. This means that you do not have to make the bed everyday. There is what is known as “stay-tite pole pockets” which physically ensure that the sheets stay tucked under the mattress. For a couple of washes these sheets could be a little stiff but after that they become soft.
Satin waterbed sheets are sheer
bliss. With a waterbed mattress ensuring good quality sleep, these smooth
silk sheets ensure that you oversleep. Like the cotton sheets, these also
have a flat sheet that is sewn to the bottom sheet at the center. In order
to keep the bottom sheet from slipping, waterbed sheet connectors are used
in each of the corners. You cannot ask for more. Everything is just about
perfect for a wonderful night’s sleep.
Wait! The comfort levels just keep increasing. There are cotton flannel
sheets, which actually fit the hard side or soft-sided frame waterbed.
Luxuriously soft, absolutely comfortable, these sheets are a godsend to
human beings who just cannot fall asleep. The problem however is that you
just cannot bring yourself to get out of bed.
All good things must come to an end. We have to maintain these sheets. It is advisable to used only cold or warm water while washing them. Very hot temperatures decrease the life span of the sheets. Use the mildest of detergents and a little dilution will help to retain the color of the fabric. Use less than the amount of detergent recommended by the manufacturer. If the sheets are white add a little lemon juice to retain the whiteness. When drying, dry on a low setting.
