how to get rid of roaches

In India, roaches are common insects everywhere. Someone somewhere is always complaining about them. As nocturnal insects they are out when you are away so you cannot really detect how many there are. However you can always discover their hideout as they breed in dark, damp areas.
Once you have discovered their nest try to deter them by keeping that area clean. Keep it dry and absolutely clean. There should be no food crumbs or stagnant water. Once you have cleaned it up, sprinkle boric powder around it. Boric powder acts like poison and reduces the number. This method tells you how to get rid of roaches.

If you cannot find the hideout, begin by sealing off the area. Tighten leaking taps. Keep food sealed and avoid any kind of dampness. We Indians are used to eating something sweet after a meal. But that sweet wrapper sometimes gets dropped on the floor or some other reason may cause some tidbits to be left around. This should be avoided at all times.
Roaches multiply with a little amount of food and water. So you should be careful in keeping the area around the dustbin clean and tidy and put a lid on it. You could also keep a crocin tablet in the bathroom or in the roaches hideout. If they chance on the tablet then be sure they will be wiped out as a tablet is as good as poison to them.

Another solution is using baits. Keeping ready food mixed in poison attracts the roach. When it ingests it, it not only dies but kills the entire colony too as the other roaches feast on the dead roach, thus ingesting the poison.

However if none of the techniques work and you see roaches even during the daytime then your house is infested. Call in the professionals they will tell you how to get rid of roaches.  ~ author Karishma Bajaj
