Child Behavioural Skill Development
"What script are you writing in your child's book ?"
Do you want your child to be successful and happy and be a
winner? As parents, we always want the best for our child and we want our child
to be the best too. But many a times, unknowingly we hamper the child's
development instead of improving it. All it needs is a few positive words which
helps your child see themselves as how you wan' them to be.
When your child is born in this world, his mind is like an empty notebook. The
daily interactions and communication with the external worlds helps in making
scribbling in their notebooks, which later becomes the bible of their lives.
Most of these gospel truths are written by us, the parents, because we are the
ones who spend the most time with them in their early ages.
When you tell him things like "You are shy" or "You are a bad boy that is what
gets written in his book. Whenever he acts, he refers to this book and thinks,
"I am shy" or "I am a bad boy". His actions then confirm to whatever his mind
tells him.
So it is important to be VERY careful when you speak to your child. Write your
child's book with positive phrases like "You are brilliant", "You are
extraordinary", "You are darling", "You are fun to be with", "You are lovable"
and see your child blossom as per your expectations.
Avoid saying negative things like "You are dumb" or "You give a lot of
trouble", because this does not help your child in anyway. If at all it slows
down his or her progress. It is good to avoid comparing your kids with others,
this hampers his or her self-image and the child, instead of growing into an
individual, strives to be like someone else.
Most of the children carry these scripts along with them throughout their life,
although there might be a lucky few who will wipe out these scripts and
write new ones based on their self learning.
But we would be giving an early advantage to our child by writing scripts that
the child will treasure and make him a successful and great human being.
Your child is the most wonderful thing that happened to you in your life, right?
Then let them know that today.
