homemade christmas gifts  christmas gift craft ideas

Winters, snowman, fleece jackets and carols makes December the month to celebrate. Rare and new clothings seem to be making the fashion rounds early from the onset of autumn. Christmas is also a time to spread cheer and wish friends and relatives whom we respect. Gifting during Christmas is a tradition and the children eagerly await the arrival of Santa and look forward to present the gifts to their siblings and grandparents.

During Christmas there are several sale options in reputed brands. Gifting is an art by itself and surely it takes a bit of creativity in making gifts. The best way is to bond with the family during the weekends of December and collectively decide to make gifts at home. The positive point is that it is encouraging for children and has a personal touch in each item.

Christmas cards are a must. Collect some drawing sheets before your children and ask them to do a border painting. They can also stick photos of Santa or you could do the outline for the Santa for them. Kids love coloring and will come out with flamboyant ideas. Another simple idea is to do fabric painting on ceramics. These can be bulk buys of tea cups or coffee mugs and one can do some artistic work on them.

Homemade gifts can also be suggested in candle making, clay painting or photo frame decoration. Gather together as friends and family and try to do a nursery collection of exotic plants. This would be a wonderful gift to elderly parents or other relatives who have a penchant for gardening. Learn a bit of weaving and do some baskets and decorate the same with beads or stick on items. The fillings can surely be chocolates.

Food items are the easiest choice of many. Chocolate, fudge, confectionary and even snacks are homemade gifts. The main thing is about the wrapping. Use bows, satin ribbons and transparent glow paper to cover the same. For people who have the ecological concern in their mind, use newspapers and make paper baskets of the same. Do some wood sculpting, candle sculpting or grain sticking. More ideas can be done with making ceramics or sewing.
