| Angels! How does it feel when one
hears this word? A feeling of sweetness, purity, divinity and blessings.
This word has given birth to numerous stories, anecdotes and dreams.
Angel as a word is extremely powerful. It gives hope to people. It
generates a feeling of optimism and a belief that some divine force is
watching over you and will hold your hands to safety in times of need.
If we try to view Angels in a more theoretical or philosophical angle,
they are considered as emanations of a supreme divine being. Angels are
supposed to perform certain tasks, good deeds. Angels can be in any form
including that of human form. It has always been a subject of debate
whether angels are the supreme authority or just part of supreme
almighty. Greek word ‘Angelos’ has been said to given rise to the term ‘Angel’. The literal meaning of this word is Messenger. These are creatures that supreme almighty has created to fulfill his will. Angels are souls that never had any physical form and primarily seek to contribute in best way possible. They are helpful souls that can arrive in any shape and forms. However, the later part of last sentence will vary as per the needs and expectations of the people. Interestingly, angels are not supposed to be of any particular gender yet they can be male or female. Angels solicit unconditional love and passes message from lord to us humans. Angels basically act as a link between Supreme Being and humans and they tend to guide us during the times of trouble and spiritual transformation. Many people think angels and spirit guides are one and same thing but they are not. If you see different pictures, sculptures and depictions of angels, they are shown to have human forms but with wings or halo. They radiate light and divinity. Angels have been given appropriate importance in every religion; however the word used for them is changes. Angels have an important significance in Christianity. |
I am your little angel
and I'm sent from far away
To cheer you up if you are sad
