FAG Kugelfischer Georg Schäfer Aktiengesellschaft is the parent company
manufacturing fag bearings. Basically this company came into being when
two patrons came together to produce state-of-the art bearings. They
were Fischer and Schäfer. The company that united the two was founded in
1909. Basically, Friedrich Fischer in 1872 brought into being a workshop for repairing sewing machines, which within a short span of time led to the initiation of the first automatic cast steel ball factory, in 1897. In spite of such an achievement, he received no recognition, whatsoever. Later in 1883, Fischer began mass-producing steel balls that were defined and homogeneous in size. This marked the beginning of the rolling bearings industry. However, it was over two decades later that the fag trademark was registered when the two came together.
