bronze eagle

The eagle symbolizes power, strength, freedom, valor, bravery, gallantry, heroism, liberation, independence, free will, supremacy, authority and control. In fact most of the kingdoms around the world have used the symbol of the eagle. While these are the positive aspects that the bird stands for, there are few negative characteristics that are associated with this bird. While it is sharp in capturing its prey, it is extremely cunning and conniving. At most times its prey are unsuspecting creatures of the wild. But then, in life power comes with shrewdness. The Bronze eagle has been an age-old popular sculpture. After all if one could not keep an eagle at home, they could at least keep its statue. Though the eagle is more of a symbolic creature for the Americans, even Indians value this bird for its significance. And so many homes in India are adorned with an eagle bronze sculpture.

This sculpture can be polished according to one’s desire. The bronze sculpture could either be highly polished, antiqued polished or then rustic polished. One could purchase a life-size eagle sculptured in bronze, or then a miniature. Irrespective the beauty of  bronze eagles lie in the detailing that goes into constructing it. It is as if the sculptor has studied the structure of every wing of this bird.

Sculptures of eagles in bronze are usually of two types, either open winged or then close winged and perched. People prefer the open-winged sculptures because they are believed to denote protection from any harm. It also signifies constant flight or action. In India, people however prefer the close-winged eagle sculptures that according to them demote peace, tranquility and settlement, rather than constant movement. This bird also signifies abundance as it always knows how to feed itself, so it is believed a household with an eagle sculpture made in bronze would always see wealth and prosperity.
