A number of historic monuments that adorn India were made
from stone. One of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal, has
been constructed from white marble and has survived the ravages of time.
In fact it is known the world over that in terms of monumental heritage,
India houses some of the most magnificent and towering stone monuments.
There are a large number of stone traders or rather suppliers, mainly in the northern belt of India. These suppliers deal in natural stones such as granite, marble, slate, sandstone, limestone and quartzite. Some of them take orders for stones in the original forms and there are others who process the stones as per requirement. On the local front, many homes in the urban cities are either tiled with marble or ceramic tiles.
