Footwear forms the ultimate part of
one’s attire for when you look at a person, you look at him or her from head
to foot. Shoe stores play an important role in defining an individual. Gone
are the days when a single pair of shoes would suffice for any outing. Shoe
stores now have a variety that would gladden the heart of even a
connoisseur. Formal attire demands formal footwear and good leather shoes
with comfortable and soft insoles are in demand any day. These could come in

is amazing what the right footwear can do to a holiday. Of course life is
never an unending song. To weather the vagaries of nature, shoe stores
provide the sturdy Sandak, which comes unscathed through mud and rain, the
Wellingtons or the gumboots and a variety of rain shoe wear to see you
through the monsoons.
For Festive occasions like weddings, these stores even
produce Mojaris, delicate Indian footwear that can be worn with any dress by
men and women alike. The Kolhapuris of Nasik and the Hawai slippers of
Kerala need special mention, as they are versatile, affordable and very very
durable.
Shoe stores also store accessories. What would we do without the array of
polishes and instant shines for our shoes? Socks and brushes, insoles and
laces insignificant though they appear to be, are perhaps more essential
than they appear to be at first glance. Next time you pass a shoe store,
don’t dismiss it summarily. It deserves much more than a passing glance.
