You need to know the fundamentals of sailing, of course. There are not too many sailing schools in this country, but you could join a sailing club and begin sailing on some of the other boats, before you invest in one of your own. And when picking a used sailboat, you must check for insurance, efficiency, power, speed, state of repair and so on. Otherwise, you might end up spending more on maintenance and repair than you did on the original sale.
