When Graham Bell invented the telephone, little did he know that from a
luxury it would become an essential commodity moving from the wired
immovable to the satellite mobile phone. Well all the same within the span
of less than a century the telephone has seen a progress in leaps and
bounds.
Initially when the cell phone came into the market, it was priced at an
amount that was much beyond the reach of the common man. It took some time
before the prices started declining and more and more players ventured into
the cell phone market. But not before too long, with initial companies
facing the heat of competition, cell phone companies began to manufacture
handsets that cost far less than the initial lot.
Today, we have a vast range of cell phones to select from with a large
number belonging to the affordable category. And even these become cheaper
when purchased from the wholesale market. The reason why the wholesale
market is cheaper than the retail is market is simply because wholesalers
get their stock directly from the manufacturers and so they are not charged
a dealership fee, the cost of which goes to the purchaser. Retailers on the
other hand have to pay a dealership fee, which they levy on the consumer.
Most people consider the wholesale market to be the place where duplicate or
damaged cell phones are available. But that is not the case. It is just that
manufacturers sell their products cheaper to wholesalers who in turn sell it
at a steeper rate to retailers and retailers need to earn their profits too.
Only one thing to be maintained when purchasing a cell phone from a
wholesaler is that his company is one of repute, which will ensure guarantee
of the product being genuine and brand new.
In India, well known brands have their own retail outlets from where they sell their phones. Several Indian traders import cell phones, refurbished mobile phones from countries like China. India has lucrative demand for these phones which are traded in the wholesale markets of Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai.
