Wholesale Business, sources & supplies

According to the English dictionary, the term
wholesale means Selling of articles in large quantities to be retailed by
others, or selling things on a large scale. Wholesale business is no
ordinary business. If one has qualities like the right attitude, good
contacts, and an exceptional communication only then he can be a successful
in wholesale business and also sky is the limit for earning big bucks for
these people. With India slowly becoming the commercial hub of the world, the
consumption of new and modern gadgets and articles are on the rise too. This
in turn means prosperity in retail business that in turn means increase in
the wholesale business. But due to community barriers, people of all communities cannot enter this field. There is no judicial law that supports this statement, but its the social outlook and the social behavior that gives rise to such kind of barriers. For e.g. in India, many
people are aware that there are basically two types of communities that are
majorly involved in wholesale business. The Gujarati community because of
their excellent network of people and contacts and the Muslim community
because of their fearless attitude. In countries like the United States and
Canada, one needs a legal permit to start a wholesale business but that is
not the case in India. Anyone can start his own wholesale business here
because of the loose government officials and the unimplemented rules and
regulations. Most cities in India have their own wholesale
markets, where dealers from the trade are located in same area. Eg in New
Mumbai, there is the APMC complex where several wholesale business operate,
like dry fruit wholesale, onions, vegetable wholesale business etc. Most of
the wholesale traders have associations which protect, preserve and promote
the interests of their members and interact & mediate with Government
authorities.
