mens cashmere sweaters

The cashmere wool is considered to be the most expensive of yarns, at least amongst the varied knitted fabrics. This wool is from the cattle of Kashmir. What makes this maximum in demand, even though it is the costliest? This is because, this breed of cattle survives in one of coldest regions of the world, and the wool collected from their self-protecting coat is known to keep a person warm, without requiring additional woolen clothing.

So while mens cashmere sweaters may look thin, they protect and keep one warmer than any other form of wool. The yarn created from the raw wool is very fine, and the knots used to create the sweaters and tiny and very closed knit. In fact, it calls for many hours of labor.

Even though pricing is considered as one of the yardsticks to ensure the purity of the mens cashmere sweaters, yet it may not be in the purest form. In fact its demand has increased so much in recent years that the manufacturers are known to blend synthetic threads into the genuine cashmere ones, thereby reducing manufacturing costs, increasing output and earning more profits.

The name cashmere comes from the place of its origination, being Kashmir, a northern state of India. This State, actually known as Jammu and Kashmir was given the sobriquet of heaven on earth, till it became stricken by violent unrest.

However, the main source of income for this region has been its cashmere weaves. Most people in India spend a large sum of money to but at least one of these sweaters in their lifetimes. In fact, it may sound unbelievable but owning a sweater woven from cashmere yarns is considered a status symbol.

Though the wool maybe dyed into bright and vibrant colors, yet the generally preferred weaves are in the natural shades. This is because in this case the wool goes through minimal chemical treatments, retaining the original softness. After all the more the chemicals, the less gentle the feel.

One can to some extent make out the difference between the original mens cashmere sweaters and those that have a blend of other types of wool. Generally the pure cashmere ones are extremely soft, and after no matter how many washes they do not lose shape, at all. If preserved well, they tend to look as good as new, even after years of constant use. ~ author Karishma Bajaj
