What we wear to office is definitely different from what we wear to a party. Office wear is generally termed as semi-formal, with a growing trend of being casual. On the other hand party evening dresses are strictly formal and more often than never, eye-catching. Depending on the kind of party you are attending you could either opt for something classic and sophisticated or then something meant for the discothèque.

Black has always been the color of the evening. In fact most people opt for black in different patterns when it comes to the party clothes. These dresses could be decorated with shimmer, embroidered, hand-painted, etc. Even a plain black evening gown looks gorgeous.

 When purchasing party evening dresses, people in general are always on the look out for something exclusive. So rather than purchasing a dress from the departmental store that has a rack full of the same pattern, they prefer to go to designers who make no more than one or two dresses of the same pattern.

In India, women have become increasingly conscious of the way they dress up. Earlier the evening dresses worn were either an expensive Sari or Indian Salwaar Kameez.

Even today women from orthodox households to wear Indian garments. There is another range of party evening dresses that are known as the Indo-western attire, whereby designers merge patterns of the east and west.

With constantly changing trends there are no standard pattern or designs as such. In fact people nowadays prefer to purchase clothes that make them comfortable, rather than something that would be envied by other’s leaving the wearer uncomfortable.
