batik scarves

Batik is basically the design style that has evolved from the dye. Different colours can be brought onto a single material with this art of dying.

Batik scarves mostly have geometric prints on them. You could bring in your unique style by getting the prints on them yourself. The process is like this: pour some hot wax onto the material wherever you do not want the print to come on. Soak the material in a dye and put it out to dry. You can repeat this process to get multiple colour shades on to your material. However you need to make sure that the material is totally dyed out before the next colour is added on.

Then carefully peel off the wax. This will give you color patches in few places making it a different style. You could also bring in uniqueness into batik scarves by pouring the wax in a particular design. Try carved wood stamps on the wax so that the wax too gets a pattern. Once the colour penetrates the wax designs then you get beautiful designs. Different something like no other.

You can also add some beads and tassels to your scarf. In India you get beads too in the scarf. Batik scarves are best worn with self-coloured clothes, as they are full of colour. Put it around your neck or around your waistline. You can also string it in the loops of your denim. It will look cool. ~Category authored Karishma Bajaj
