Retro tinged clothes were pivotal to mankind in the decades gone. Floral and frills went galore. Micro short dresses, a-lined skirts, skin fitting outfits were always the talk of the town. To compliment these were the high hairdos of the ladies and the fat sideburns of the gentlemen.

Vintage clothes had a class of their own. In European countries the long flared dresses with a corset and a bakram were worn untill the 19th century. Then came the slimmer gowns and 2-piece suit outfits for ladies. Men relieved themselves of the 3-piece suit as daily wear and got comfortable in shirts and trousers. Slowly yet subtly the dynamic look of the 50’s and the 60’s enveloped the whole world. The look was captivating. Everyone seemed to get addicted to it. Even the sari blouse had a vintage touch.

But as the only subject constant in the fashion world is change, the vintage look disappeared to a modernistic look and then blended further into a post-modernistic look. Today we see a chasm of difference between the fashion of the past and today. Vintage couture includes vintage t-shirts, the vintage t-shirts altered a bit from the 50’s to the 60’s.  Mumbai's fashion street occasionally boast of trendy, designer vintage t shirts in classic colors.

They just got better. Hey, but don’t you feel the 60’s look is coming back. Low waist pants, floral clothing. Even accessories of the former years have made a come back. But this blend of a post-modernistic look and vintage couture is bound to bring a wild razzle-dazzle effect.
