For some their enthusiasm maybe limited to a particular genre of music, which maybe the blues, classical, film soundtracks, rock, pop, heavy metal, etc.

Music is said to having a healing effect on almost everybody and anybody. It is said to ease people suffering from psychological problems such as depression, stress, anxiety, etc. When one is alone, the first thing they would do is switch on some music that works as a companion. All in all music is said to be one of the basic essentials in life. While this maybe a fact, with a scientific basis, yet there is a difference in listening to music for the sake of it and enjoying music. In the former it is a way to deal with life, and the latter is about absorbing the tunes put together.

There are those who collect music memorabilia of their favorite musician or singer. For instance till date there are many in India who enjoy Kishore Kumar songs and own his entire collection.

Many rock enthusiasts of the west collect the concert tickets. It becomes a part of the memory attached to the live concert performed by their rock or pop icon.
