RC cars

Radio controlled cars, popularly known as RC cars have fascinated many across the world. There are quite a few car enthusiasts and RC cars hobbyists who are actively pursuing their passion by learning and knowing everything about RC cars, building their personal RC car collection, collecting RC cars’ accessories etc.

RC cars are nothing but remote controlled cars that can be operated through a radio transmission. Most radio controlled cars that are powered by electric motors or nitro engines are some of the fastest RC cars. It is said that electric radio controlled cars are sometimes faster than some of the nitro models on the basis of performance and speed. It is recommended that beginners and amateurs should starts with electric RC cars because these cars are easy to understand and simple to build and maintain.

RC cars are available in various shapes and sizes and even though a few of them are smaller than the usual cars, they contain highly developed engineering. For those eager to learn about building RC cars, one thing they should keep in mind is that speed is one of the most important factors to consider. You may begin with slower speeds but as you learn more, there are many models which run beyond the speed of 80 km per hour.

There are many RC car manufacturers who provide different models and ready to run (RTR) cars. They also provide with an RC car kit that helps you understand the nuances of what goes inside to build an RC car. It is also important to know what the different RC cars components are and how should one operate them. For beginners, this is a must, as it gives them a good foundation and helps to further the knowledge about radio controlled vehicles.

Important RC car components include the chassis which is the main part of an RC car upon which all other components are placed. Usually RC car chassis is constructed from aluminum and contains carbon fiber reinforced polymer parts. The suspension on RC cars includes oil-filled shocks and springs which absorbs the shock when riding through uneven roads

Like a usual car, even RC cars have gears, motor, tires which give movement to the RC car. RC cars also have a glow starter which is a battery-powered device used to heat the glow plug in the engine. On being hot, the glow plug ignites the fuel in the engine cylinder. RC car tires, like usual car tires, are also made of rubber and have foam inserts. Electric RC cars have motors powered by battery. These cars also have bearings helping RC car engines run longer and smoother.

Maintaining an RC car is as important as buying one. Hence all electric and nitro RC vehicles have to be cleaned and maintained regularly. This process includes wiping the body of the RC car, regularly checking the tires for damage, charging the batteries, checking the suspension, cleaning the oil filter etc.

To learn everything about RC cars may take quite a few years because you may discover something new all the time in the first few years. One has to research, read and experiment to be able to make your own RC car. Sometimes it may seem very difficult to solve a certain problem but in the end this hobby gives you a whole lot of fun!.
