One of the most exciting parts of infancy, kid-hood and childhood, if not for the young one as such but at least for the parents, and more specifically the mother, is the numerous costume parties. Infact, whether one would like to admit it or not, most mothers to a large extent do end up treating their little ones as dolls, dressing them up as every girl does to her dolls.

Apart from the thrill of putting the child into a fancy costume with the required make-up is that of competing with other mothers in the league. So almost every mother is at their creative best from the moment a costume party is announced.

Whether the costume party is based on a specific theme or not is not of much concern as children’s department stores usually keep a stock of popular costumes, especially those of popular animated characters. And in case of the theme of animal costume party, then felt suits are pretty much available along with the required mask or headgear.

Not much effort needs to go as far as kids costumes are concerned, because almost always no matter what the theme maybe the costumes are easily available at the departmental stores or with those who specialize in lending kids costumes.

However, most mothers prefer to purchase kids costumes, rather than hiring them. This is primarily for hygiene reasons. Since children are prone to various rashes, cough and cold, amongst other communicable ailments – minor and major – one cannot be too sure whether the child last wearing the costume was hail and hearty, or otherwise. Apart from that the costume lenders may not even bother to have the costumes washed after every use.

Apart from that the costumes worn by kids can be worn as regular attire, leaving aside the make up, mask, headgear, etc. For instance, the animal velvet or felt suit can be worn in the winter season, and can be modified for a bunny party. And if your son is a big Batman or superman fan, he wouldn’t mind wearing the top and bottom as often.
