The Finnish Movies have been quite successful in the domestic market for quite a number of years. In fact since 1998, Finland has managed to produce around 10 movies in a year. And the Finnish Movies enjoy a market share of about 15% on an average.

This clearly is an indication that a whole new generation of Finnish filmmakers is arriving on the scene. This also signifies a re-institution of the Finnish filmmaking craft. It signifies the presence of professional producers.

The recent success has been clearly facilitated by strong financing. This has been a boon for the Finnish Movie Industry, which underwent a great number of unhappy years, which were caused by the recession in the early nineties.

In the recent past, domestic as well as international private investment being infused into the Finnish Movie Industry has been increasing. This clearly allows the filmmakers to have bigger budgets. The films therefore end up enjoying better resources. This is a clear indication of a healthy rise in the Finnish Movie Industry.

Though the Finnish Movies of the present suffer from slight technical defects the industry is fortunately richly endowed in terms of creative talent. Though earlier the Finnish Movie Industry had a lineage towards the male species, recently there has been an emergence of the female talents in the industry.
