Most of the Hebrew Movies which were produced on Hebrew themes did not leave any mark whatsoever on the history of the Hebrew Movie Industry. European Hebrew directors directed most of these movies. But the Hebrew movies that have been produced since the war that have been built around the Holocaust themes have all been directed by non-Hebrews.

The ethical quality portrayed in the Hebrew Movies had undergone a great and immeasurable improvement over the next two years. In fact so much so that the film historians who had earlier clearly castigated the earlier Hebrew movie directors for having avoided relevant Hebrew issues swallowed their words.

Infact some of them went to the extent of suggesting that Hollywood experienced its initial shades of Hebrewness only after the Hebrew Movie “Goldwyn and Mayer” was introduced in the Hollywood movies.

Between the three decades of the 1900 and 1929 almost 230 of the Hollywood Movies had featured Hebrew characters. Some of the most prominent American Movie producers displayed a very keen interest in bringing Hebrew classical and historical themes to the screen at this point of time.

The movies today seem to suggest that the Hebrew life began at the onset of this century. Most of the filmmakers clearly ignore the vastness of the Hebrew history and pretend it had never existed.
