Iranian movies

It was only recently that Iran crossed a century of Movies in Iran. Persian Movies have in the very recent past risen to prominence in recent years. Despite a number of constraints being posed on them, Persian producers have succeeded in producing many quality films that have gone on to receive international recognition. Among the Persian directors, one of the most recognized directors is Abbas Kiarostami. His films have won numerous awards, including the Cannes Film Festival's Palm d'Or award in 1997. Some of the other famous Persian directors are Dariush Mehrjui and Tahmineh Milani. Bacheha-e-Aseman (Children of Heaven), has been the first-ever Persian Movie to be nominated for an Oscar.

Persian Movies have been enjoying a spurt of increase in popularity worldwide solely due to the quality of films that are made in Iran. Some of the prominent Persian movies that stand apart from the crowd and speak volumes in terms of art and talent are listed below.
