The people of Thailand discovered the Movies in the year 1897. And yet the very first Thai Movies appeared only by the1930s. The actor Mitr largely highlighted the decades between the duration of 1958-1970. He managed to appear in a large number of Thai Movies over this period of time. The number of Thai Movies that he appeared in was close to a phenomenal number of about 266 movies. Most of these movies were largely drama-centric and action-centric themes.

 Each year in Thailand, about an average of 100 Thai Movies were released. Of these 100 Thai Movies each year, Mitr starred in at least of 30 Thai Movies on an average each year. 

In the history of the Thai Movies, the early seventies represented the golden age. At this time around 200 Thai movies were being made on an average annually. At this time in Thailand, there were three kinds of Thai Movies that were aired:

The “NANG KAI YA" is a classification of the Thai Movies that were used as promotional items by herbal-medicine salesmen at temple gatherings. The "NANG LOM PHA" category of the Thai Movies was screened during feasts. The "NANG KLANG PLAENG" category of the Thai Movies was screened in open-air during specific events.
