carpet cleaning machines

A professional carpet cleaning service might prove to be quite expensive in the long run. With the advent of latest tools and carpet cleaning machines, the task has become much easier and once can save a fortune in the bargain. Now carpet-cleaning weekends have become simpler to bear!

Basically, there are 2 types of carpet cleaning systems viz. the dry system and the wet system. Very obvious that the latter requires water and the dry system utilizes special extraction machines. Lets see the difference between the two:

Wet carpet cleaning machines
Most cleaning systems used at home are water extraction units (referred to as steam cleaners). These machines inject a cleaning solution into the dirt pile and suck back the dirty solution so that the carpet is left clean. Machines with powerful motors are preferred for better performance. Also, it is a better option to use models that do not require a water hookup. One of the precautions one needs to take while using steam machines is that the carpets must not be over wetted. This can cause damage in terms of shrinkage or discoloration.

Dry cleaning machines
The dry clean method:
In this method, a dry absorbent chemical is spread on the carpet before being vacuumed. The dirt is then sucked in leaving the carpet clean and dry. Though it’s a less messy method, it is relatively preferred.
Carpet cleaners include various kinds of brushes, vacuum (steam vacuums too), foams, sprays, powders etc. All in all, the basic criteria one must consider while getting a carpet-cleaning machine are:
The system must be :
·Safe and less risky
·Simple enough to use
·Tough and less breakable
·Powerful, especially the suction system
Some of the latest tools and carpet cleaning machines are :
The Dirt Invader: A strong yet lightweight machine that is best designed for daily use and abuse. It has a circular motion vacuum tank that can extract the most stubborn of dirt particles, though the dry system. This carpet cleaning machine is quite effective in high footfall areas, especially public places.

Vacuum carpet cleaning machines: there are several types of vacuum machines e.g. the canister type vacuum cleaner which is great for on staircases, floors made of hardwood, wall to wall carpets, drapes etc. These machines have long attachments to reach the farthest of corners.

Extraction method
An extractor is yet another type of carpet-cleaning machine that uses detergent solution for cleaning. The chemical is forcedly injected in the carpet by a pump and then sucked out with high power motors. To enhance the peed and performance, a heater is added either internally or externally to the machine since heated water breaks the dirt particles down.

Extractors are a wet cleaning method, but definitely a better option since they clean deeper. Certain extractors have built in brushes that scrub the carpet too while cleaning. Some machines, known as swingers, are also equipped with handle telescopes that are adjustable and that allow the user to stand upright in a comfortable position. They are quite useful in heavily soiled or high-traffic areas. Their thick steel rotary cleaning heads have at least 3 vacuum extraction slots plus 3 spray jets for faster results.
So, if your carpet is light in colors and your home is populated with kids and / or pets, it makes economic sense to purchase a carpet-cleaning machine instead of opting for professional service. If one needs to clean the carpet more often, having one’s own cleaning system can be a better option.
