Drapes are the essence of a home. They bring in colours
and vivaciousness. And drapery not just covers the skeleton of a window
or a bare passage entrance but also gives the entire place a makeover.
Curtains also bring in privacy to give you a sense of comfortability and warmth. With building constructions drawing up at every nook and corner a look through your window and you can see your neighbour’s house. So draw up the curtains to keep your nosy neighbours out. If stitching curtains is a hassle for you then opt for readymade curtains. String them into the rod and they are ready to be hung. But as there is no standard size of windows or doors in India, it is preferable to get them stitched or else be ready for some alterations. Ask your local tailor to do it and it will fill perfectly. Selection of drapery fabrics depend from person to person. It could be satin or silk with lining or simple cotton. Even lace is preferred for a soft sensuous look. Drawing rooms are mostly draped with sophisticated colors. Hues that match furniture upholstery are usually selected. Bright and bold colored curtains make their appearance in the kids’ room. Cartoon caricatures and other fun graphics too brighten up children’s room. The colour trend of the drawing room is usually followed in other rooms. But one can go creative and change the look of every room with different colour drapes and fabrics. Every season, drapery manufacturers come up with new designs and styles. So you can either buy rich luscious fabrics that don’t need a change in a very long time or string supple curtains that you could change as you wish.
