There was a little girl who wore her
bedroom slippers in her bedroom only. When asked why she had a simple
answer – they are called ‘bedroom’ slippers. This is a common notion we
share but is simply incorrect. Bedroom slippers are to be worn in the
entire house. And is not necessarily restricted to the bedroom. You can
wear it in the drawing room, kitchen or in the toilet. Once you put it
on there is no need to slip it off. Unless its time to retire for the
day. Infact keeping it on is said to be hygienic. As it keeps the dirt and grime off the feet. Well although you clean your house and disinfect it, microbes return. They are not visible to the naked eye but are certainly present on the ground. So keeping your slippers on is important. However you have to remind yourself not to wear it when you are out of the house. Unlike daily wear shoes, these bedroom slippers are soft and cosy. You can chose from fur to satin to other soft materials. Whites are mostly preferred but then again they get dirty very easily. So you can choose bright colours instead of pristine white. Slipper manufacturers in India give cuter varieties for kids. A little bear boggling on the top or some cartoon character is fixated on the upper part of the slipper or are present throughout the slipper in form of stickers. Bedroom slippers that give relief are also available. Small rubber lobes emerge from the upper part of the sole. So when rubbed against the leg they give you acupressure comfort. Today special soles are also available that trigger the vital pulse points in the feet, relaxing the body.
