water filtration

In this increasingly polluted environment it is becoming increasingly important to ensure the consumption of safe drinking water for all the members of the family. One of the best ways to ensure the purification of the drinking water is through water filtration.

Since water filtration is a process that is so essential to your life, it is important to know what exactly is entailed in the whole process of obtaining pure drinking water for all the members of your family.

The process of water filtration involves several sets of pre - processes before the water is actually filtered to obtain clean water. Given below is the description of the various processes that are involved in the water filtration.

Aeration: Aeration is the process where air is added to water. The process of aeration allows the gases that are trapped in the water to escape and then adds oxygen to the water.

Coagulation: Coagulation is the process through which the dirt and other suspended solid particles are chemically 'stuck together '. This is done so as to enable the act of removing them from the water.

Sedimentation: Sedimentation is the process that occurs when gravity pulls the particles such as clumps of alum and sediment to the bottom of the cylinder.

Filtration: Filtration is simply the culmination and the final process to all the above processes. This process id done through a sand and pebble filter that removes most of the impurities remaining in the water even after coagulation and sedimentation has been conducted on the water.
