Ants are India’s favorite party crashers and are found
almost anywhere. You forget your choco stick for a moment on the table
and there they are. And if you have a garden attached to your home they
can be quite a nuisance. However there are a few simple steps that help
you how to get rid of ants.
Ants are attracted mostly to food, so get rid of any open food, water or anything that helps them survive. Make sure your home is clean especially after the children are done eating and take the garbage away from home. If you have kept some food out in the kitchen then tightly wrap it or seal it in containers. Do not sore perishable foods in the kitchen especially during the warm seasons as these foods secrete water that attract ants. If there is any standing water around your area then get rid of it. Ants need water to survive. Most important are the cracks in your house. Seal every possible crack, these fissures are mostly the nests of ants. Spray along the perimeter of your home with insecticides. This will prevent ants from entering any cracks from the outside that are invisible to your eye. As ants are attracted to sweet liquid you can create a liquid bait. Boric acid is very useful. Mix it with a little honey syrup and heat it till it completely dissolves. Then in an eyedropper add equal amount of water and the solution and drop in places the ants frequently visit. Citrus peelings and water when blended together become a natural ant repellent. Throw it over the anthill and see the ants disappearing. These are a few of the methods on how to get rid of ants. ~ author Karishma Bajaj.
