In mainstream print terminology there are two connotations to the term
outdoor art prints. This could either denote prints that are hung in the
outdoors, such as in parks, on public walls or put up as hoardings;
alternatively it could imply those prints that contain pictures,
photographed or painted, of the outdoors, such as landscapes, seascapes,
etc. In the case of the former, these prints are generally used to convey a public message. They could be pasted onto signposts, playing the role of signboards. During film promotions such art prints are pasted onto the walls and on public transport. Smaller versions can be used as car stickers. In the case of latter understanding of outdoor art prints, it implies anything that has been depicted in the form of a sketch, painting or photograph that represents the outside world. These could be various sceneries, animals in their own habitation; birds perched on a tree, vendors at work, the roads of a city, the outdoor village scene, etc. Whatever, form it may take, art prints have aesthetic value too. Anything that does not look attractive would be critiqued and ignored. If the common man is supposed to pay heed to the poster you have pasted for him, it has to be attractive. ~ author Lata S.
