Everything in life is done with an objective in mind. Even an artist
portrays his thoughts objectively. Such that you can see what the artist
had in mind. So be it landscape drawing, human or decorative painting
you can decode the painter’s mind. However there is one style of
painting where you cannot comprehend the though of the artist
immediately. This is termed as abstract painting. Here there are no complete figures as the details are eliminated. It leaves only a fair amount of recognizable objects. It is the abstract. This style originated in the Islamic religion where the followers were not allowed to depict human figures. So they turned to paintings that would indirectly connote humans. Soon animals and the plant kingdom found their way into the repertoire. Even calligraphy evolved out of such art. Hence it falls under abstract art category, as it is through the designs of pen, its thickness thinness you can feel the importance of the subject and comprehend what the teller is trying to convey. Abstract painting is said to be one of the most difficult styles as you are have to be a good painter and feel what you are drawing. Most of all you have to be a good poet too. So that there is rhythm in your style. It was in the early 20th century that the painters broke away from the notion that paintings had to be represented in the full form. They realized that the subject could revolve around the colour, line or even the texture of the painting. Abstract paintings in India have a lot of takers.
