how to apply eye makeup

Applying make up is an art by itself and applying eye make up is still more delicate. Whether it is the face, the hands, the feet or the eyes, they need to be washed thoroughly. In the case of the eyes as the area is so small, it becomes even more important as make -up can clot if the area is unwashed. Secondly, you do not want anything getting in the way of the delicate task of applying make up. So extricate yourself from all those addendums like bangles and bracelets. Check whether the room is well lit without any glare. Always use a moisturizer as a starter and then use the concealer to hide those unwanted spots and freckles. Ensure that the concealer you use is a shade lighter than your actual skin, otherwise the area could appear blotchy.  The next step would be to tackle the brows with a hard brush. Starting from the inside, color the brows and then use your fingers to make them smooth and even. The preliminaries over, you can begin on the actual and perhaps toughest part.

Applying eye shadow has plagued many a person but with a little care, the end result is worth the effort. The general rule is to use one color during the day for a professional look and 2 or three colors during the evening to acquire that party look. Always start from the inner side while applying eye shadow and gradually move towards the outer end taking care to see that the movement is more or less in a straight direction. Using the brush, push back the color so that there is a blended effect.  If however you are using two or three colors, use the darkest shadow to line your eye with and then apply the lightest color under the eyebrows. The in-between color goes just above the eyelids. To give the make up an appearance of continuity, just blend those colors using a brush and hey presto you have a unique combination of eye shadow.

Never apply eyeliner or use mascara before applying eye shadow or the concealer for the total effect is ruined. Open your eyes wide, keep the pencil in your strong hand and line the top and then the bottom of the eyes. The pencil should not be blunt. In case you decide to use liquid just get a little onto a brush and gently use the tip to transfer the color. Once the eyeliner is on, graduate to mascara. Take a dry brush, separate the lashes and then apply a thin coat of mascara. Indian women tend to use Kohl. Wet the kohl stick first, insert it into the kohl, whirl the stick till the kohl sticks to it, shake it well to remove the excess and keeping the stick between lightly closed eyes, draw it out. A smudgy line appears on the lower and upper lid giving a soft smoky look. While choosing colors for mascara, focus on the color of the eyes and maybe a little bit on the dress. Depending on whether you want to create  a deep set,  a wide set  or a a close set look , mix and blend the eye shadow appropriately using the light and dark shades effectively.

As bad material could cost you your sight, invest in quality products and if the liquid starts getting thicker or the powder starts cracking, just go ahead and replace it. Do not compromise. If the mascara starts clotting on the lashes, it is time to get a new one. Another golden rule is to never- never share makeup. It could cost you your eyes.
