After bleaching using a toner is recommended which will reduce the orangey tone of the hair. The toner also conditions the hair and does not further damage it. An option available with people is using other colored dyes to removing black hair dye after some mild bleaching and shampooing. A powder bleach mixed with a shampoo and conditioner can be used. Prepare a mix of Shampoo / Conditioner and bleach with equal parts of water. The ingredients have to be mixed till a creamy consistency is obtained.
If applied recently it is easier to remove and colour correction is easier but on the whole the process can be a time consuming one requiring more than one trip to the salon. An alternative to using Black hair dye can be using a combination of Indigo dye, which is blue, and Henna which will give shades from red to brown. It is natural and with no side effects of the chemical black hair dyes but on the flip side the process is a lengthy one. One needs to be careful while applying Black hair dye, as it is difficult to remove from any surface including skin and fabric. The best way is to prevent it from staining either skin or fabric. Applying Vaseline around the hairline while dyeing can do this. If black hair dye stains fabric then using detergent and water quickly is a good idea otherwise dry cleaning may be required. Black hair dye stains can also be removed using rubbing cigarette ash over the skin, which is stained, dipping milk in cotton balls and rubbing over the stained area or even nail polish remover.- editor K Bajaj. copyright indianchild.com
