The word birthday party brings fond
memories to most of us – a big creamy birthday cake, colorful balloons,
a happy birthday banner, streamers, danglers, ribbons, party hats,
candles, whistles and colorful birthday gifts. Who does not like a
birthday party?
Most of us are excited about it. Birthday parties are a source of
happiness, entertainment and fun especially for children.
When planning a birthday party for your little one, there is a lot of
planning that goes into it.
Today, unlike traditional birthday celebrations, theme-based birthday
parties are being organized. Children want birthday parties that have
their favorite cartoon and TV characters like Pokemon, Scooby-Doo,
Hannah Montana, Popeye etc. So the first and foremost thing that one
should do is to choose a birthday party theme. Now based on this theme,
everything revolving your birthday party will be planned.
Today, a lot of birthday parties include tattoo art, nail art, hair
braiding, body painting and other such fun activities. Birthday parties
are incomplete without games, so make sure that you plan a lot of
fun-filled games for children. Try and choose games that involve many
children with maximum involvement from them.
Decoration is very important for any birthday party. A well decorated
birthday party is a must for children. Most of the decorative items that
you choose will depend on your birthday party theme but some of the
common items that you will need are: all types of balloons, banners and
posters, flower decorations, crepe streamers, ribbons, cartoon masks,
buntings, danglers, head bands, whistles, crackers, cone hats etc.
You also need to decide on the menu for the guests you invite for the
birthday party. Choose food items that are enjoyed by most of us. Apart
from the cake, you may also serve sweets, cold drinks and snack biting
during the party.
Dinner may follow later depending on your budget for the party. If you
are organizing a birthday party at home or all by yourself, you can
choose paper plates, bowls, cups, straws, spoons. Also arrange for paper
napkins, table covers, mats etc.
Also select good music for the guests to enjoy. Make sure that the
seating arrangement is well done.
You can add some zing to the birthday party by placing bean bags for
kids. Another important element to plan for in a birthday party is the
return gift. It can be toys, games, books, bag or anything that is
useful at the same time memorable. You can attach a ‘Thank You’ card
along with the gift.
