bridesmaid jewelry

Jewelry has been an integral part of womans outfit for ages. With the evolution of civilization, jewelry has become more elegant and more diversified. A wedding ensemble would be incomplete without jewelry in any society. Whether it is the bride, the bridesmaid or the flower girl, each one of them wears jewelry appropriate to the occasion. As the bride is the most important person at the wedding, the bridesmaid’s jewelry will have to be a subdued version of what the bride wears but it still catches the eye.

The bridesmaid jewelry is determined by two factors....style and mood. Convention has it that a bridesmaid wears matching earrings and a necklace. Of course, these could be made from colored stone or colored crystals, which either match the dress or set a contrast.

Pearls have always been in demand and some brides want their bridesmaid to set a somber tone and wear a pearl necklace and pearl earrings. Diamonds are a womans favorite and if the wedding is on a lavish scale, the bridesmaid glows with the radiance of these precious stones.

Variety is the spice of life and this is never more apparent than in the necklaces that adorn a bridesmaid. A silver chain sporting a stone or a gem of varied hue has a lot of appeal. Some necklaces have silver or gold-based pendants studded with ornamental stones or precious gems like rubies, emeralds and sapphires. Amethyst, turquoise and diamonds are also hot favorites. Some pendants are also made from colored glass and wire and are beautiful to behold.

Crystals, pearls or diamonds may be imbedded to add that extra touch of flourish. Sometimes the silver or gold base is replaced by the austere yet elegant mother of pearl base with stones or crystals cut to form exquisite designs. The necklaces are so riveting that it requires quite an effort to take ones eyes off them.

Another unique piece of jewelry that never fails to fascinate are those rhinestones, which are strung to give an ethereal effect. More often than not the result is aesthetic and appealing. Of course no jewelry is complete without the delicate hair accessories. These could be in the form of jeweled clasps or clips and in some cases depending on the hairstyle bobby pins are used to hold the hair and veil in place. Like the necklace and earrings, these could be made from a variety of stones or crystals.

Occasionally these pins encrusted with gems are made to keep in tune with the dangling earrings. Last but not least, the bracelet, which could range from a simple silver chain to rhinestones or petite gems lend a superb finishing touch to the bridesmaids ensemble.

Whatever the bridesmaid wears, be it pearls, diamonds, rhinestones or precious gems, her jewelry just cannot out shadow that of the bride but even within these confines, there is such a lot to choose from, that the sparkle and glitter is never absent.
