Civil engineers play a major role in our society. It is one of the broadest of the engineering disciplines. Civil engineers perform a wide variety of role. If you want to pursue civil engineer course in India then, you need to prepare for BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering. The basic eligibility is 10+2 or equivalent examination, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The course duration is of 4 years and selection is made on the basis of marks secured in 10+2 exam and marks secured in Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) conducted by IITs or All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE) or other state and national level exams. After BE/B.Tech, one can further his studies to M.E or M.Tech or Ph.D. in civil engineering.
