Illustrator is basically a type of artist. It is a very exciting career choice for those inclined towards creativity. An illustrator greatly enhances his employment chances by creating a portfolio showcasing his works. He can use computer generated illustrations or hand drawn artistic pieces for his portfolio. Additional knowledge in subjects like sketching, drawing, and composition etc can do wonders to his career. Quite a number of bachelor courses help students in preparing portfolios.
