Most retailers who do not have an in-house designer team prefer to purchase wholesale clothing. This is because the profit margin is much higher than buying from other retailers. Usually people owning boutiques and departmental stores need to buy a couple of pieces of each style that is available.

In India, there are basically three types of wholesale clothing markets. There is one for fabric of various kinds. The other is for Saris and finally one dedicated to Indian readymade garments such as Salwaar Kameez, Ghaghra Choli, etc. Most exporters and importers make all purchases in bulk. The wholesalers maybe manufacturers themselves or then maybe the middlemen between a manufacturer and the local market.

There are also whole clothing markets for men. Here one can purchase all types of men’s’ wear. These include shirts, trousers, sports wear, Indian garments, wedding clothes, etc. Even men’s clothing fabric is available in the wholesale market, which is cost-effective for companies that have provide their staff with uniforms.

The largest wholesale electronic market in India is the Lajpatrai market in Delhi. Goods from this market find their way to every small towns in India. Mumbai has its wholesale electronic market located at Lamington road. This is where you could buy electronic parts at wholesale rates. Since the last few years, made in China electronics goods have arrived and are currently dominating the scene.

The reason is simple. They are available at fraction of the cost of locally made electronics products. Wholesale markets, like most markets in India, works on credit basis, in which the imported or manufacturer generally gives the goods to the wholesaler on one months credit.

The term wholesale refers to something that is sold in large quantities. Electronics have come a large way since its invention. Electronic items have become a part of our daily life. Right from the washing machine, air-conditioner, fan, television to MP3 players, Discmans, treadmills etc…

We purchase electronic items from the electronic stores that are called as retail purchases. The storeowner purchases the same items but from a supplier, manufacturer which is called as wholesale purchase. But the twist Is that when the storeowner purchases it in huge quantities, the price per article is much less than what we pay to but that electronic product.

In 2002, with the re – launch of FM radio stations in Mumbai, there was a craze about china manufactured pocket FM radios. These radios were sold for anything between Rs.75/- to Rs.100/- per piece to the customer. But in reality, these sellers used to purchase it from Chinese manufacturers for as low as Rs.20/- per piece. Ofcourse the orders placed were in thousands of pieces.

Business is the activity in which one engages time, attention, or labor of any one, as his principal concern or interest, whether for a long or short duration, reaping a benefit from such an activity.  A large number of businesses actually are small-scale, which benefit the proprietor and the few employed individuals. On the other end large-scale business employs a large number of individuals and also has an impact on the economy. However, no matter what the size maybe, one can reap many benefits from indulging in a business.

Apart from that being involved in a business gives one the independence to make key decisions; they are not answerable to higher ups. Its about being one’s own boss and of those employed.

The varied businesses range from manufacturing to marketing; from outsourcing to job working. With unemployment being one of the biggest problems world over, there are more and more people tilting towards setting up their own business after gaining initial work experience.

While there are stresses attached to owning one’s business such as preventing losses, paying salaries, etc., yet a vast majority of people prefer owning their own venture rather than being employed. This is because as an employee no matter how many working hours one puts in, yet the income is far less than expectations whether in cash or perks.

A businessman or businesswoman is master of their income. Their profits or losses are in proportion to the efforts they put.
