Introduction to cold fusion
The Web takes major responsible for transforming the information through the
Internet. The Web entered into the limelight in 1991 since it become the
most popular component of the Internet. The Web servers send the requested
pages to the browsers. The ColdFusion is a rapid application development
system used to create interactive Web sites and perform the server-side
processing. The Web application can be executed from a Web page or over the
Web. The Web Applications Servers are data driven accept the Data from users
through forms and connect to databases. The Web Application Server uses the
web pages to display data to the end-users.
Allaire Corporation launched ColdFusion in 1995. It was the first Web
Application Server available for Windows NT- based Web Servers. Now
ColdFusion is available for Windows NT, Solaris, HPUX and Linux. First
version is ColdFusion 4.5 the ColdFusion 4.5.1 then comes ColdFusion 5 and
now Macromedia introduces ColdFusion MX6.1.

Supports expressions in queries, including Regular expressions
Provides extensive number of tags
Supports COM and DCOM objects
Includes its own API called CFAPI

Integrates with Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) servers
Can be managed and administered from any Web Browser anywhere.
ColdFusion to create dynamic web pages and it is one of the emerging server
side programming tools for the web. Thus the server-based application makes
developing and deploying reliable, robust and ensures high performance of
Web Applications and interactive Web sites. This is to ensure that Web is
incredibly easy to create and used for both the end-users and developers.
