One is diploma in engineering and the second is degree in Engineering. To take admission in diploma classes, the applicant needs to pass his/her 10th examination. For taking admission into the engineering degree courses, educational qualification is intermediate in science. The applicant has to appear examination to take admission. Course duration of diploma engineering is three years and that of degree engineering is four years. However, there is one-year relaxation for students who take admission in degree classes after their diploma in engineering.
After successful completion of engineering course, one can opt for jobs or can go for further studies. There are several research institutes in India, which accommodate engineering students up to PhD level.
