In UK, there are no specific qualifications mentioned for event managers as most of these professionals come from varied backgrounds. Ideally, one should have adequate knowledge of subjects like PR, business studies, marketing or hospitality management or a degree or BTEC. While working in the event management firm, many professionals also prefer to study for work based qualifications like NVQ level 2, 3 and 4 in events. A qualification from Chartered Institute of Marketing will go a long way in establishing individual’s credentials.
