PGDM refers to Post Graduate Diploma in Management. It is equivalent to an MBA. MBA or PGDM is perhaps the most popular career option for youngsters all across the world. The way business houses and corporate are growing, demand for qualified managers has also increased. The basic eligibility norm for PGDM course is graduate degree with a certain minimum percentage or grade from a recognized university. Now a day, colleges offering MBA courses are opting for students with prior work experience.
For working professionals, the part-time and Executive PGDM are better choices. By joining these courses, they can enhance their working skills and can manage both work and studies equally well. One is required to prepare extensively for PGDM entrance exams. The exam usually begins with a written test followed by Group discussion and personal interview. Only the students who manage to clear the entrance test are invited for GD & PI round.
In the Indian context, PGDM is usually a two years course. Students are required to take exams like CAT, XAT, GMAT, NMET, MAT etc for getting admission into top business schools of the country.
