Many institutes in India recognize the talent of such avid photographers and offer various course for them to enhance their skill and thus capture and frame their passion in the form of pictures.
In India photography can be pursued as a career in 2 ways- the formal and the experimental.
Formal training gives you the qualification to work with magazines and newspapers. With time one can choose from a wide range of subjects like fashion, crime, sports, entertainment, daily news and many more. The income growth is also at a steady level. The second way is the experimental way where one can learn by being a trainee under the guidance of a professional.
This involves learning the basics and then moving on to learning the professional techniques.
Bachelor of fine arts (BFA) or applied arts are courses which provide professional training in photography. After Class XII, one can join as an apprentice with a photography unit. Graduation could be pursued through correspondence. One can also pursue courses with duration ranging from 7 days (workshops) to 6 months.
Professional photographers generally begin their career by working in a studio.
