bridal party dresses

Bridal party dresses are more versatile than ever before and highly individualistic in nature. Although it is the bride who is the center of attraction, the bridal party, be it the mother of the bride, the bridesmaid or the flower girl, are all equally important because their attire complement the bride’s gown. Often made from velvet, chiffon, organza and taffeta, these dresses are made from the same type of fabric as the bridal gown. The styles could be slightly different and the colors are so chosen that they compliment the wearer.

The luxury of the fabrics makes the wearer feel elegant and beautiful. Whether is a 2 piece dress, or an off the shoulder dress, the ultimate aim is to focus on the best features and make everyone in the bridal party radiant. Today’s designers keep in mind that the dresses would be “wear again “attire. Fortunately, there are no golden rules that have to be followed for bridal party dresses. The amount of variety and choice that is available makes it very easy both for the bride and the bridal party. In fact in Hawaii and the Caribbean islands, cotton is the preferred fabric for the bridal party. Subdued tones and print in cotton poplin seem to be quite a hit with many. One thing however is certain, fashion is never compromised and the latest trends if found to be appealing are always resorted to. The tea-length dress often made from chiffon, georgette, or satin is charming to behold. It lures the viewer with the tiered layers of material. The floral print dress is another whimsical glory of shimmering chiffon, while the sheath dresses take the icing on the cake. Rich colors; elegant tones and flattering lengths enhance the entire wedding ambience. Satin is a wonderful fabric and very popular with the bridal party. Pink or the citrus colors are in great demand and claret is regarded as an all time favorite.

In India, the bridal party dress can be quite unique depending on the state where the wedding takes place. Ghagra cholis with intricate zardosi work, the paithani, and tissue, banarasi or kanjeevaram sari are an integral part of the bridal party outfit. Thus, bridal Party dresses have become more attractive over the years and offer quite a challenge to the designers who design the outfit.
