  One of the cutest fancy dress themes for children is that of animals. It is more so enjoyable when toddlers are dressed in various furry animal costumes. These could include the bunny, cat, dog, tiger, lion, monkey, hippopotamus, etc.

Bunny costumes are easily available amongst people who manufacture fancy dresses costumes, or can be made to order. Some people stitch these costumes at home. In fact it is not difficult to prepare one at home. What you need is the furry fabric or velvet. Preferably it should be any of the gray shades.

Before you start you also need a paper cutting of the costumes. Amongst other objects is white wool to make the pom-pom tale, scissors, thread that should ideally be of the same color as the material, needle and thread if you are stitching or then a sewing machine. You will also need some make-up for your child. Body paint can be used for the face.



Once you have the cuttings according to your child’s size, you will have to stitch it all together. Some people prefer to make two-piece bunny costumes so that their children are comfortable. Others probably make a one-piece costume. To cover the hands and feet, you could make your child wear white gloves and white socks respectively. For the head and face instead of making a bunny mask, you could make a bunny cap or a hood with the ears stitched on.

When getting your child ready, you could paint whiskers onto the face. Teaching the child to hop like this creature and probably recite the bunny nursery rhyme, would add to the bunny-effect. You could also give your child a carrot to bite into in front of the judges.
