| All of us look forward to holidays, for
it is a special time when everything else takes a backseat. You want to
throw caution to the winds and just enjoy yourself. That being the case,
you would want to be properly attired so that you can make the best of
everything around you. So what type of dresses would you really require?
It really, depends on the kind of holiday it is. Come Christmas and children have it really good. Smocked and hand embroidered dresses are all time favorite holiday dresses. Coatdress sets with hats or portrait collar dresses are charmers. Tartan plaid vest sets and pants with turtleneck tops vie with the holiday sweater set and snowman pants with turtleneck. Fur trimmed sweaters and velvet cardigan dresses look great on girls, while the babies are adorable in Santa or elves suits. Four piece suits are in for the boys at Easter, and floral and Easter basket dresses for the girls. For the adults anything fur trimmed is a festive addition for a holiday outfit, be it Faux or authentic. A little trinket, a little lace and the good old black dress will never fail you. Halloween holidays are real fun and the Halloween holiday dresses are even better. Children and adults wear costumes of animals, celebrities, or even monsters.
Spring is synonymous with prints and patterns, which emerge from hiding. Screen printed tops, knit tops with ruffles and scoops are back in vogue and floral with piping and banding, beaded scarves and wraps, the ever popular reds and pinks make a come back. Summer holidays cater to a different category altogether. White is dominant and the light blues and pastels make you feel cool. Swimsuits, trunks and bathing suits, matching beachwear, beach shirts, and T-shirts help you weather the heat. In India, Navratri is a time for cultural splendor. Ghagra cholis and short salwar suits predominate. In the south, Embroidered sarees, long skirts with silk tops prevail. Diwali is equally splendid with each state having its traditional outfit. Colorful Indian holidays like Holi has everyone dressed in white. This really sets the tone for colored water and powders to be sprayed. In short, the culture of a country, and
the weather actually determine what is going to be worn during a
particular holiday. The bottom line is you should feel absolutely at
ease and enjoy the spirit of the holiday. A couple of casual evening and
party wear should also be a part of your holiday wardrobe. Who knows
what the holiday is likely to bring? -
