homecoming dresses

Homecoming dresses can be picked out from the yesteryears. You could select from empire dresses, Victorian types or the conventional cocktail dresses. First, realize what looks best on you. Which cut or shape enhances your personality? Once you have understood yourself you can go out and try the different varieties available in that particular segment. Colour plays a significant role when it comes to homecoming dresses. You have to comprehend which colour accentuates your skin tone. Too flashy can look gaudy. Hence something pretty need not necessarily be something that befits you.

Halter is in, so make the most of it. With tie back or a simple flowing halter neck. The empire style looks gorgeous on most figures. Experiment with ruffles that form at least a 2 inch hemline. Soft spun nylon is the ideal fabric for this dress.

Strapless with a slight ruffle running across the bodice looks charming. Add to it a ruffled hemline that ends asymmetrically and you have a flirtatious dress ready. Or try a halter top with fine spaghettis. Sew it in chiffon with striking colours and you have a dress that will beautifully drape you.

Ribbon trimmings look great too. Let the dress fit on your waist while it flows downwards with ribbon on the hemline, which is given a bias, cut. This skirt made of mesh will flow rhythmically as you walk. Colours in contrast with cotton and polyester mix can create a striking effect. The black party dress is an all time favorite. Experiment with beads and tinsels on the borders. And let the neckline accentuate your bust line. The gown can be flowing, trailing to the floor or up to the knee with a biased hemline.

Strapless, beaded, halter. Short or long. Whatever your dress in, let your accessories make an equivalent statement. A necklace of the Edwardian style, headgear with attached earrings, a simple corsage or satin elbow length gloves. Style it with the right hair do and you are ready to make heads turn wherever you go.
