Domestic violence is not related to status, education or culture. It just happens behind closed doors. Many times the victim supports or gives encouragement in recurring domestic violence. Several cases go unregistered as women often are wary about the environment and its repercussion. Again domestic violence is not related to an arranged marriage or love marriage. It can also occur suddenly after several years of happy matrimony.
The causes of domestic violence can be several ranging from lack of balance to proving authority. Many times the psychological factors trigger the violent act. This can be due to chemical imbalance or general circumstances like a sudden mood change. General occurrence of violent behavior must be checked. If the person is unable to control his behavior and willing to go in for therapy, then he must be encouraged about the same.
Despite so many stipulations under law and several women centric social organizations offering help, many of the cases go unregistered. A woman hopes for a situation to change and many times this hope is shattered. The wrong kind of exposure to violence at an early age can make a person engage in domestic violence. Probably lot of pressure during childhood or watching someone in the house being abused becomes an inherent characteristic of the person.
A person who is affecting violence can have a psychological strain; in the sense could be suffering from bipolar or related illness. Again the person may not be in the mood throughout, hence the children or other members in the family may feel that this is a one time issue. Actually not treating the person encourages the behavior. A person with an obsession for authority can register his presence by financially depriving the person of all the needs.
A sadistic attitude is the main reason for such behavior. It is essential to understand that even a stray case of violent act or demeaning behavior must not go unnoticed. It is possible that the person must have faced a severe moral or ego blow in the work area. People with a deep inferiority complex do resort to attention seeking tactics by loud behavior. Generally this could stem from insecurity, deprived behavior and stress triggers.
