Financial condition and domestic violence

 

It is most imperative that women of today understand their need for financial security. It is fine to realize priorities but education is a must for all individuals so that when the need arises a career can be pursued. Going with today’ condition, women are liberated and hold key positions in the society. Still a large section of women undergo torture silently. The torture could be mental harassment or physical abuse. The cause for the same also lies in the social strata and mental conditioning of the women to abide by her household duties and marriage.

The biggest dilemma faced by such a women is how to escape the situation. Here she begins to salvage the situation by bearing the atrocities with lot of courage. Seldom she realizes her worth or understands the need to break free. Marriage is an important institution but on the whole there should be a need for greater confidence level as an individual. Aided with qualifications, acumen and courage women must voice out their troubles before their life is held at stake.

Being financially independent, helps a woman stay afloat during bad times. For family reasons it may be essential to give up a career. But on the hindsight a part time career is certainly a plausible factor. The encouragement for the same must come up from family and in a case the abuse cannot be remedied it is essential to break free. Courts help out cases of domestic violence and help the woman to fight for justice. A woman who is financially dependent has a different angle about the situation.

It is noted via studies that women do not solely rely on their financial capacity. The need for a family, social prejudice, closed mind sets affect her a lot in making a decision to part ways with an abusive partner. There are shelter homes and other units that enable a woman to take up part time jobs and offers assistance to look up her career. This kind of financial support coming from her own skill improves her self esteem and morale.

Depriving a girl child of the right to academics is a bane in many countries and empowering women in finding her own self is very much essential. It is good to be practical and invest a certain amount of savings in unit linked funds, insurance, medical policies and safe investments that offer good returns in the woman’s name. Money is handy during tough times and financial stability enables a woman to fight for a cause as domestic violence at home.
